 New Release: GZR CODE1
GZR CODE1 in Electric Green This is a CODE1 made out of 7075 aluminum alloy. This is the next in the series of yoyos we are calling "GZR". The idea is to take an existing yoyo and make it out of 7075 without changing the profile at all - we just run the same program. In this case, the resulting yoyo is 2.37 grams heavier with the exact same weight distribution. These will be extremely rare -only 10 available. http://www.onedropyoyos.com/shop.php

I absolutely love that Green! Reminds me of the vibrant Greens on the P2s.

 Re: New Release: GZR CODE1
I am amazed at the apparent price difference between the 6061 and 7075.
Looking at the price of the regular Code1 and the GZR Code1; the difference is $30. Can I assume that this reflects the price difference between the two alloys?
If so, I am amazed that material costs are so different. When people said 7075 was more expensive, I assumed a few extra bucks per yoyo. Are there any other costs in the price that are not obvious?
This really helps to explain the difference in price between some manufacturers that are cost-based in JP Yen. This could easily add $50 to the yoyo just for materials and currency carry-cost (the cost to the manufacturer due to currency valuation differences between when the time the item was invoiced and the time the item was paid for.)
Or, am I way off-base on that?

Or, am I way off-base on that? I was thinking about this yesterday. By my reckoning, I'd say you're pretty spot on. In Japan, a CODE2, for example, costs ¥10,000. That's a pretty popular price point for many yoyos around here, actually. The same way that a $100 price point is popular in the US. Now, for something made of more expensive material, material possibly sourced from overseas (not sure about the metal manufacturing industry here), it's very, very likely that you're going to have to charge ¥5,000 more for your product. ¥5,000, when converted to USD, is quite a bit. But, the jump from ¥10,000 to ¥15,000 (the cost of recreation, Joker, Turning Point, etc.) isn't a huge one. A Protostar, for example, costs ¥4,000 here. When I moved here and started receiving my salary in Yen, the cost of Japanese yoyos began to seem more reasonable. Still expensive, but more or less like the cost of a GZR, Chief, Canvas, Supernova, etc., in the US. There's probably some sort of term for this (cost of goods relative to the value of the currency in the country in which they're produced), but I don't know it.

Or, am I way off-base on that? It's a magical material, so it cost more. You know, just like the Japanese stuff.

Or, am I way off-base on that? Yep it is much more expensive and the anodizing is as well.

One suggestion - since the anodizing has been solid - can you jazz it up with colored SE's? I put some orange domes on my blue GZR Nautilus. It looks really good

 Re: New Release: GZR CODE1
Is the Project slated to come in 7075? I think that would just be outrageously perfect. The P2 may be a little too heavy in 7075. I'll just have to buy both and see.

If I remember correctly, Dave mentioned that they'll be post nut capture yoyos only. The guys aren't too fond of remaking yoyos that take the press nut or nut capture, as it's just too time consuming at this point. They've made an exception for the Projects because it's an anniversary thing that they've done for awhile. So, if they were to do it, it may not happen until the anniversary, which is bit away.
