That is the problem though, it was part of the decisions. It was just in text instead of in the pictures itself. They were always out there as a possibility, check J.'s post from Sept. 7th. I would hazard that those who are complaining just looked a the pictures and did not read the rest of the thread. As for the grooves, if Project 1/CODE1 grooves are used they are so subtle that they will blend into the wall from a distance.

The green on is just a single half at different angles, the red is both haves put together with a bearing in the middle. I can say with 100% certainty that there were absolutely no changes made between the green and the red pictures other than the joining of two halves so that people could see what it looked like put together. ahh thanks now I understand that. Cuz for me it looked like some different yoyo. but when I look closer I can see it´s the same. IMO on that green picture it has more smooth looks

Re: *THE WINNER!* Code2 Entry - Rendition Updated 10/8
I'd like to clarify my post in which I used the word 'deceitful'. It's been brought to my attention that this is viewed by some as a 'charged' word. While I do not view it as such, I respect those that may. As such, I'd like to be transparent about the -meaning- of what I said, as opposed to how it may or may not have been perceived.
Jrod is a good guy and has a good heart. He has good intentions, and I know this from various interactions with him over the years. As such, I do not, nor have I ever, believed that he has ill-intent. More specifically, I do not believe he began this project with the intent to deceive the voters.
However, my intent was to judge the scenario in which one design was voted on and then changed after it had one as 'misleading'. This characterization of misleading was not to imply that there was intent, just that the circumstance itself made me feel mislead into believing that one thing was going to be produced when in fact it was not.
I apologize if anyone has taken offense to my poor choice of wording, and hope that it is clear that I believe that jrod has only good intent.
Feel free to PM me for any further clarification, as to not mar this thread any further.

I'll follow your lead with how to approach this thread and just say thanks for your clarification and for discussing with me on the phone. Regardless of our differences and where we may disagree, it's very clear to me that we both overlap entirely in wanting nothing but great things for David and Shawn.

Alrighty then! Here's the final render before I get to whittling away at some aluminum. The weight looks just right, as do all the specs. Expect updates as I progress. I am excite!

Re: *THE WINNER!* Code2 Entry - Rendition Updated 10/8
That is absolutely awesome, and looks exactly like what I had envisioned.
I had an idea this morning for play testing this yoyo that would get the community involved in a way that I hope would be fun, exciting, and hopefully a little chaotic. The idea would be to have a short term tester program through which any member of the One Drop community could feasibly be involved in testing the yoyo during the prototype phase. At a yet to be determined date, we would figure out 2 or 3 initial members to serve as the first short term testers and send each a prototype and a Sharpie marker. They would keep the CODE2 test units for 3 to 4 days, write some thoughts/reflections on a CODE2 prototype testing page, sign their initials in the cup (yes, I’m sentimental), and then forward the yoyo and Sharpie via USPS Priority mail with tracking to someone else on a list we will compile of people who want to be involved and have agreed to some rules. Signing up on this list will require that you agree to a number of things that I’ll outline here so that it’s clear.
1. You will keep the yoyo for only 3 to 4 days. The exception to this would be if you have access to a club or contest that will take place within a reasonably short period after you receive the yoyo. If that’s the case, you would make a post about it in a thread we will create to keep tabs on the travels of the tester units – I imagine this process of following the units will be a lot of fun. 2. You are cool knowing in advance that you are signing up to drop $6 to forward the yoyo in a small flat rate USPS Priority mail box with delivery confirmation to the next person you choose from the list of people who have signed up. 3. In your reflections you will state what your play style is (1a, 3a, and/or 5a), provide feedback about how the yoyo plays, and offer any suggestions you might have for how to improve how it plays, should you have any. You’re also encouraged to have yoyoer friends near you give it a whirl and provide their feedback as well. 4. You will sign one of the cups with your initials before packing it up with the Sharpie.
I was envisioning that the tester units would be sent back to One Drop as mementos at the end of the process – I think it’d be cool to have the units back together with all the initials (and hopefully the dings/love some of you have added). I also thought it might be cool to do a tester video – for those of you who have a camera, or access to one, you could film a short clip or clips that I could then compile into a tester video – this wouldn’t at all be a requirement for any testers though.
At the end of the prototype process we would then try to take all the reflections into account and proceed from there. Does this sound like something folks would be interested in doing?

I'm in.
I like the idea, but depending how many people will be in the process it could take a large amount of time.

What an awesome idea... seriously cool. And if you're gauging interest, I'd love to participate at some point, from a relative noob's perspective.

Awesome to hear that you're both interested. Skill level/years of experience would be no barrier here at all. Capt anxiety wrote: I like the idea, but depending how many people will be in the process it could take a large amount of time. I think you're right, and I've thought about that as well. Seems like the amount of fun and community building that might come from this would likely offset the downside of it taking some time. Just my $.02. Also, this is just an idea I had about how the testing phase could proceed in a way that gets a lot of people involved and that I think would be a big damn blast - suggestions are welcome.

This went from being something that I wasn't interested in to something that I desperately want. I love the grooves. They add a whole new look and dimension to it.

I love this idea!
If I am eligible to test, I love to contribute, and be on this project.

i can has test tiem naow? i love this idea, it's a great way for people to test out the yoyo and spread the hype all at the same time! it's something i would totally do! only problem is, there is the chance that it could either get lost in the mail, or we meet the unfortunate bad apple who thinks thievery i fun. though i guess you could always do a background check on em. check their trade history and all. i dunno. i guess it's up to you to make that choice! either way i hope it works out.
