Speaking of serious downhill, looks like the skateboarders did better than the helicopter pilot this past weekend. Fortunately, no one was injured....

I keep looking at the loaded boards.
I already have orangatang wheels (purple presidents I believe)
with inverted drop trucks at home on top of a standard double tale deck so I can fish tale it. I have been looking at the tan tien to do manuals but haven't pulled the trigger. How do they handle? The tan tien is like the devrish but 3 inches shorter.

Tan Tien has kick flips so you can do manuals and probably even ollies.

I currently ride a Landyachtz Switchblade.

I still love my Landyachtz Urban Assault... last one in the warehouse.
Oh yeah.

It's a B-grade.

Ive ridden the Tan Tien and Dervish a lot and I own a dervish.

In terms of manuals and 180 pivots and shuvits, its MUCH easier on the tan tien. With that said, it feels stiff and less naturally carvy then the dervish. Dervish is just more fun for shredding.

In terms of sliding, I think the tan tien probably slides a bit better because its stiffer, but its not really noticeable with good wheels.

Never was much of a long boarder, but I have a couple. Most used is an old Santa Cruz I bought about 15 years ago with some nice big Krypto's on it (we have BUMPY roads here)- it is my transportation in the summer (divided between it, my old Marin MTB and a Vespa).
I would, however, give my eye teeth is anyone knows where there is anything like this in Northern California...
So much fun, gone now, but man this pool was heaven

Talk about a cement wave, that is one sweet little bowl. I used to scout my neighborhoods in the winter and spring to find little kidney-shaped beauties like this one.

Only a true skateboarder can get a tingle down the spine at the sight of a drained pool. :-)

i really would like to start this sport. as some of you guys know i'm an inline skater, before that i was a skateboarder for 4-5 years. so this thing is really close to me.

but where i live (Hungary) longboards are sooooo expensive :(

and the roads are pretty bad... but the board is my main problem. :?

Not a longboarder, more of an old school pool rider.

2 years Ago on my 42 birthday was my last day Skateboarding. I landed on my wrist and the force blew the tip of my elbow off. I have 5 screws holding it on. I fell about an hour after this picture was taken. I can still skate at allmost 44 but I don't anymore- can't take the falls. I don't like getting old

P.S. ...and yes, I still rip pools whenever I get the chance! Never broken anything, but it does take longer for bruises and gashes to heal, at my advanced age...

Nice handstand, made me sore just watching it! My Elbow cost me 5K so I think it will be my last broken bone skating.

That's an expensive elbow! What you need now is a nice, smooth, & mellow longboard with big, soft, squishy wheels for some occassional laid-back cruising...think of it as a golf cart-type ride for "retired" skateboarders. Fewer broken bones and less dangerous than vert!
