 Less Responsive questions...?
Hey guys,
Im having some difficulties keeping my Code 1 unresponsive... Ive been cleaning the bearing with mineral spirits and allowing it to dry completely but for some reason the unresponsiveness wont last very long. I change my string every 2 hours of yoyo play. If anybody has any tips id really appreciate it. My knuckles thank you too! LoL

 Re: Less Responsive questions...?
Do you have a bearing from another yoyo that you can try in your Code1? That will help narrow down weather it's the bearing or something else.

 Re: Less Responsive questions...?
Yeah i do have a bearing from a Dark Magic II... Hope its not the bearing i did just get this yoyo from the last run of Nickel code 1's. OR maybe my definition of "unresponsive" is wrong... when throw a hard sleeper and pop it up if the yoyo gets anywhere near half way to my hand it winds up and returns... Is that normal? I figured unresponsive meant i could pop that thing to the sky without it returning... Thanks for the help JaysonB

 Re: Less Responsive questions...?
If you just got it yesterday or the day before your Flow Groove pads might not be broken in yet. They can be a little bit grabby in the beginning (just like flowable silicone), but once they break in you'll have a perfectly unresponsive yoyo with snappy binds for at least three months.
Try just throwing it for a few hours with the cleaned bearing and see if anything improves. Usually, a freshly cleaned bearing takes at least 4 hours (more like 8) to air dry, so it could just be that your bearing still has some liquid in it. Did you de-shield it before cleaning it?
Definitely don't worry too much. The 10 ball bearings One Drop includes with their yoyos are some of the best yoyo bearings in the industry. Try playing the yoyo normally for a few hours and see if anything improves. If not, post here and everyone will try to help the best they can (myself included).

I first read this and thought it said "your Flow Groove pants might not be broken in yet."... and got really jealous that I don't have Flow Groove Pants. Ok, all "joking" aside (D&S: please make Flow Groove pants), you might want to try a different string from another string maker. No clue why that might be it, but it's happened with a couple of new yoyo's I've gotten - they're responsive outta the box, and then I put a new string on (me likey the HamString), and boom... as responsive as a ______ (insert a simile of something that's really not responsive here).

 Re: Less Responsive questions...?
This isn't at all related to the OP's topic, but I second the motion for Flow Groove Pants.
Now it's time to wait on db to come in and make a photo mock-up.

 Re: Less Responsive questions...?
How's your string tension? Bad tension can make it responsive/snaggy.

 Re: Less Responsive questions...?
Do you guys ever blow dry the unshielded bearing after cleaning it with canned air or an air compressor which makes that awesome whizzing sound instantly drying it?
