 Bearing ID?
Is there an easy way to tell a 10-ball from an AIGR bearing? And if the AIGR bearing has 8 balls, how can you tell it from a standard bearing?
I put an AIGR in one of my throws and now I forget which one...
Thanks!

 Re: Bearing ID?
AIGR is only 8 balls. It is hard to tell them apart from other bearings.

 Re: Bearing ID?
AIGR i got with my Hatrick has ribbon cage. I don't know if they all do, but on other bearings i don't believe seeing those.

For the most part that is true but Ernie's supplier ran out of AGIR bearings with ribbon cages for the Ministar release so he went with the same bearings but they have a crown cage instead for just that run of yo-yos. That is where life gets a little complicated.

 Re: Bearing ID?
How do you differentiate between ribbon cage and crown cage? or, how do they look like?

 Re: Bearing ID?
This is a Ribbon Bearing Cage. This is a Crown Bearing Cage. The ribbon cage will surround the ball while the crown only covers half the ball.

 Re: Bearing ID?
Interesting. Does one have an advantage over the other?

 Re: Bearing ID?
I have heard that crown cages are easier to break if you push on the wrong spot.
