My dad lost his battle with Cancer....
Hey guys,
As some of you know from my posts earlier this year, my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that had metastasized to his brain (see topic "Broadsided on Christmas" (Apologize for the lack of link)).
On Sunday June 13, 2010 He passed away peacefully in the hospital. He had been doing well for quite some time, but things took a turn for the worst, and I made an overnight move back to Rochester from Chicago. I was home the Thursday before he passed.
I've been trying to keep up with the forums through everything, but still in a very numb phase. No desire to do anything, and still trying to process the events of the last 6 months. I wanted to again thank everyone for their support during this time, I received notable messages from quite a few people on the boards, and it meant a lot, and still does. And though I haven't posted videos, and showed off my talents to you all, I feel at home on these boards and always enjoy the discussions, news, and general feeling of the ODD Forum.
Once things calm a bit, I should have the chance to throw more and be a larger voice on the forum. After all, My dad bought me my first yomega and one of the companies he used to sell parts to made the axles for yomega's early metal yoyo's.

Thank you Brett, still trying to process it all. Going to start going through your tutorials again and try and learn more than the handful of tricks I know now.

Sorry for your loss mate- I am certain that when it was his time, he knew he was well loved and that in and of itself is one heck of an accomplishment in lifetime.

Re: My dad lost his battle with Cancer....
I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. I wish you and your family the best through these tough times. It's a hard road to venture down on.
When I lost my sister in March 2010, I found yoyoing was more therapeutic than I had ever thought before. I hope you can find the same outlet as I did.
Don't worry about trying to make the internet forums happy bro. It's your time to take things easy. I wish you all the best.
