Post How should i clean my 10 ball
I heard you can just do it with soapy water. I just got it yesterday in the mail so I'm tired of getting hit in the knuckles.lol

I clean in mineral spirits and put a very small amount of turbine oil (3 in 1)
I know others do differently, but this works for me- and leaves me time to concentrate on hitting my wrists and the top of my throw hand :D
That said- I have found that the bearing still breaks in very slowly (could have something to do with the fact that it has balls)...and yes, it does break in after cleaning a lot- constant play for about three weeks will settle it in proper- at least as I have found, even when cleaned (so I will not bother on my new one)

3-n-1 oil is very thick. It works better if you use a very, very small amount of sewing machine oil (the thin kind, not the thick kind), YYJ thin lube or trumpet valve oil. I also find that a can of compressed air works very well for cleaning and drying bearings.

Yeah- 3 in 1 is on the thick side- I put just the smallest amount, but I am going to try some sewing machine oil I have laying around (less response I assume). The Singer stuff your supposed to drop on the red dots right?
Have always used 3-1 on my skateboard bearings (which is why I throw it in the yo-yo...lots around), but at 215 I could use white lithium grease and it is still going to roll fast :? Viscosity becomes a non-issue

I use mineral spirits and a contact lens case. I fill the contact case and gently shake the bearing inside with the case closed. This is after I have deshielded the bearing. I then let the bearing sit on a parper towel for 15 mins or so. I then blow the bearing out with a compressor or a can of air. Once all that is done I use YYJ thin lube and a needle to put some small drops inside the bearing.

Before I had YYJ thin lube I used RC Car shock oil. RC car shock oil can be purchaed at most RC Car hobby stores. This oil comes in many different wieghts and you can tell how thick / thin it is by looking at the bottle and shaking it a bit.
