is the cross slash on the hub actually cut in? like a Phillips Head screw?

its cut in. i thought about it the other way, but i wanted it to look scar like without compromising the symetry

i absolutely love it, the only thing i dont really like is the x on the hub, it just doesnt seem like it should be there, in my opinion i think either a flat hub or some type of spike (some variation of the very small spike on general-yo yoyos comes to mind. )

the cross scar was placed there for one main reason. the name "Battosai" translates into "man slayer". he was a legendary swordsman in Japanese history that used lightning fast sword techniques to open way to the Meiji Era. in an older manga that i rather enjoyed, Hitokiri Battosai had a cross shaped scar on his cheek.

the name fits the yoyo because of its unusual shape and speed (Battosai used a sword technique that was unheard of and thought as a legend)

the ideas of flat hub and small spike are ok, but i think ill let the Stargazer and General Yo keep their hubs for now

I like the look, not quite the shape I expected though. I'll probably get one still. Any ideas on the colors?

secondly, about the x on the hub, now that youve explained it and it isnt just an aesthetic thing i like it more, not what i would pick but im not the one making it

will the protos be candy blasted?

I honestly don't like the "x" looking thing on the side....
It seems a bit...too busy. I simple spike or post like thing would be much nicer IMO

The X gives the yoyo character. It's the battosai, the man slayer. It's gotta have a slash or two on it. Plus, the 'real' battosai, Himura Kenshin, had a similar slash mark under his left eye so IMO the design is quite fitting to the yoyo.

This is correct and why Heath decided to put the cross on. Personally i think it's fitting for the yo and adds some character

Personally, I love this idea! A yo-yo with a ninja behind it lol. When some of my friends ask what the slash is for, I can tell them why!
