My 2nd gen 5-Star came with two strings that look identical, both are dark green/light green. I can't figure out if they are the same model or if one is the chaos 122 and the other the G string intentus like it should have came. I was wondering if anybody else would know what strings I got because I want to purchase more if I could find out what exactly it is.

One is gstring one is chaos 122. There is a way to distinguish the string, I believe it is by the lengths of the string. There is another way, I should get Ernie to chime in here.

The chaos is the longer of the two.

i always feel like im wasting string with chaos because i have to cut off so much

I have no problem with it. I'm tall and I still have to cut a good length off. The way I look at it, it is better to be able to cut off a lot and have a perfect length of string instead of having one that is too short.

Experimenting with different lengths, and knowing what works best for you is part of becoming a better player. Rather than just using an "off the shelf" length you get use to.
