 Lube Question... I have been looking around for thin lube, at YYN I want to buy the YYJ Thin Lube, but I don't need anything else from there. It would just be a waste of money for shipping to Canada.
Do I have to use that lube, or can I use lube from the hardware store?

Also other places sell the lube as well, like YYG for instance, and they have some nifty things there... angel hairs, mondo(no idea if it's still instock), gold bearings, so forth and onwards.

Re: Lube Question... Valve Oil. I recommend Hetmans Light Piston Lubricant #1 as a first choice as it is a very low viscosity synthetic oil. Steer clear of Al Cass, Blue Juice, and the store's own brand (if they have one) as those are all petroleum based. As someone at the store for the thinnest, lowest viscosity, synthetic valve oil they have.

Re: Lube Question... Well, there is a sewing shop near me, I will look at synthetic sewing oil, that is not petroleum based and when I go to an instrument shop I'll look at valve oil.

Those byproduct ones are hardly used nowadays as I saw at my sewing shop. Looked through em all and hte only ones that weren't were for ones that were HECKA old.

Re: Lube Question... That's good to know! I don't spend too much time at sewing machine shops myself, nowadays...  Personally, I just go to my trumpet lube shelf, I've got all sorts of stuff there and occasionally I even use use it on my horns! db
