Post Anyone play the "bones"?
I have recently gotten into the minstrel bones, rhythm bones, dry bones...whatever you want to call them. Great activity for the hands when you get tired of string burn...in any event- lots of interesting hobbies out there, I figured I would give it go.
No idea what I am talking about?
Here is a video of Bones man Dom Flemons from the Carolina Chocolate Drops (which is why I picked them up)

and again...

So far I have carved three sets from re-purposed french oak (barrel staves) and have gotten triplets down. Good fun for sure, and more portable than my accordion

Those look like they're very hard to play with, as they appear to be nailed to the board....

Those nails don't even go all the way through the dominoes. They allow the bones to spin like a top when face down, which is an excellent time killer when waiting for your turn. The only downside to those types of dominoes is you slam them face down, instead of face up, then they will break in half.

My apologies for the thread hijack, by the way. Quick, somebody post a video of a person playing the bones.

Cool! Rotational dynamics! I love it! Learned something new today....

Whew...back on topic, the thread control police were banging on the door!

Guess I should have figured those bones would be a universal norm for us older Yo-Yo gents. I play those too, but my wife always kicks my arse
