 What does satining do?
What does Satining a yoyo actually do? Smoother? Shinier? More Attractive?

 Re: What does satining do?
I'm pretty sure it's to get a uneven texture on the surface of the yo so when you grind it doesn't kill the spin time as fast. Less contact with skin keeps it going longer.

 Re: What does satining do?
Yes, that is correct. When you satin a yoyo it causes little grooves to radiate around the surface of the yoyo. These little grooves reduce the friction of the spin against your skin since there is less surface of the yoyo touching your skin there is less resistance and friction. Ultimately, causing the yoyo to spin much longer on your hands because there is less drag.
