Post Ham String
It doesn't smell or taste like ham, but it does play like string.

It is good, real good. Definitely better than Chaos 422 for example, and competes with G string at a comparable price.

It is thick and luxurious, bold and bright. They seem to last a fair while. Try them!

Area 51 has become increasingly intrigued by this new string, as the reviews have been quite favorable. But the name, Ham Strings, what's up with that? Are they trying to mislead us, or are there some darker secrets to this special string the maker doesn't want us to know about? In our never-ending search for knowledge, Area 51 has discreetly procured a few samples of Ham String and subjected them to rigorous laboratory investigative procedures. And what did we learn? In general, not very much, with the exception of the scanning electron microscope imaging. Take a look for yourself...

Post Re: Ham String
Hi everyone!! Matt from HamString here. I just wanted to say thanks for all the great comments on my strings. It's been a big move for me to bring my strings across the pond. Slightly daunting, so it's nice to be welcomed in such a way. You're a great crowd!

I also want to give a massive THANK YOU to OneDropDesign for stocking HamStrings. They seem to have been received very well and I couldn't have done it without the ODD team. I am a massive fan of ODD and their incredible creations (I have a few). Hopefully there will be a chance to bring you some more string in the future.

I hope you enjoy them and that they perform as you expect them to.

@db Even at 1000x Magnification, it is impossible to see HamString's secret sauce ;)

Matt

Post Ham String May 2011.
Yes I know this is an old thread I am adding to, thus I risk receiving comments about "Necro" but I did not want to start a new thread about Ham String.

I got 2 Ham String packs today from One Drop (along with my Sovereign). Ham String is very nice and Is surprisingly soft on the hands. After only a few throws it works great on the Sovereign, actually I had no difficulties even on the first throw. It whips well and holds tension well. I have the bright blue color which is very pretty and also fairly highly visible.

Not to short change the Sovereign but it is also very nice. I was very lucky to snag one from One Drop on the May 2nd drop.

Update May 11th: This string is soft on the hands and still has some bounce even after at least 2 hours of play. Binds remain solid.

Congrats on snagging a Sover-win as I call it. And totally agree with you on the Hamstrings. Two great products. Enjoy! :)
