Post Re: CODE2 Prototype Process (see inside for details)
One Drop has put together what looks like a perfect rendition of what I was hoping for! Now it’s time to test it. For the next 4 to 6 weeks there will be three prototypes circulated among the community.

Here are the people who currently have the two testers that are still circulating:

Anodized Tester: TMCertified, next to Big Oregon

Tester #7: Sabata, next to JaysonB then to bigkat

These are the people who have signed up but haven't yet had a chance to test:
All are signed up.

As a reminder to those considering being involved, signing up on this list will require that you agree to the following:

1. You will keep the yoyo for only 3 to 4 days. The exception to this would be if you have access to a club or contest that will take place within a reasonably short period after you receive the yoyo. If that’s the case, you would make a post about it in this thread. I’ll be maintaining/updating a list of who has the units at any given time – I imagine this process of following the units will be a lot of fun.
2. You are cool knowing in advance that you are signing up to drop $6 to forward the yoyo in a USPS Priority mail box with delivery confirmation to the next person you choose from the list of people who have signed up. Once you choose someone to send it to, you will PM them for their address and then make a post in this thread so that everyone knows where it’s headed next.
3. You will sign one of the cups with your initials before packing it up with the Sharpie.
4. In the reflections you provide about your experiences with the yoyo you will state what your play style is (1a, 3a, and/or 5a), provide feedback about how the yoyo plays, and offer any suggestions you might have for how to improve how it plays, should you have any. No worries at all if you don’t have any critical comments. You’re also encouraged to have yoyoer friends near you give it a whirl and provide their feedback as well.

Additionally, if you have a video camera and can get some footage of yourself, please do so. It'd be sweet to put together a compilation video of folks playing the tester units. This’ll be a blast!

This is really sweet. Thanks for allowing us to do this! I just thought I'd mention that Yomartyo and I go to club together on Wednesdays so we could pass it off to each other then if that would work with the rest of the group. I'm not sure if that helps organize anything or not though. Alternatively, I could drop it off with him outside of club.

I think it'd be awesome for both you and Yomartyo to each have a few days with it and also take it to the club for everyone to try out, before sending it on to someone.

^What they said!!^

I'm glad that there are three going out for testing. I can't wait to throw the CODE2 - the shape is looks to be really awesome - even better than I imagined from the renderings.

Thanks Jason/David/Shawn!! (and Jason for working your magic on one of the proto's!)

Yes, there are many Onedroppers at club who will be thrilled about trying it! I'll be sure to take ample photos comparing it to all my other yoyos too, for all the comparison-curious people.

Thanks James!

Just a heads up - I've been updating the list as I correspond with folks via PM. Shoot me a message if you're interested in participating.

THIS IS PURE AWESOMENESS!!! Best prototyping ever! I've had this idea before but not for prototyping, it was for a "message in a bottle".

Only thing I'm afraid of is dinging it.....

Thanks a lot Jason!

I'm pretty sure you're the only one who cares if it gets dinged.

I'm looking forward to your feedback!

I totally think if anybody Dings it they should initial the ding as a mark of Territory! lol Like a "I was here" mark! LoL This yoyo is going to travel the continent and should show who has touched it! (not saying you should ding it on purpose! LoL)

I was thinking of the same thing! But of course I don't want the yoyo to look all messed up from dings and random initials everywhere.

Quite excited to participate! Jason, are you going to send me a Code2 with red spikes? If you have clear ones, I'd prefer those... that way I don't need to color coordinate with red. :P

I would definitely be willing to get involved with this! Are brief videos welcome for the testers? I'll be thinking about it!

Thanks for your interest. I've altered the initial post to note that this is open to folks who have been part of the One Drop community for a while.

I'm going to be sending the Loaded Code 2 to Captain Anxiety. I already have a trade in progress with him, so I'll just piggy back on the same shipping package. It will go out on Monday/Tuesday!
