 Re: edWIN
Man this design fits my preferences perfectly. Please don't make it any bigger than 53mm. yomartyo who says you need a throw to be fullsized for it to be competiton standard. I'd rather enter a competion with my midsized ti-walker than any of my fullsized throws. Smaller throws tend to be faster and more solid than fullsized, which tend to be slower and floaty. Not saying there's anything wrong with fullsized, just that midsized can be just as good or better.

 Re: edWIN
well, considering the messiah is 50/40, a "competition" throw doesn't necessarily mean big. I expect 50/40 is not the preference for most competitors though. As I prefer mid-size throws, I thought 53/40 would be a good compromise that would still make it a viable competitor's yoyo -- again, depending on preferences -- but still allow it to be used as a comfortable pocket throw.
I would not at all be opposed to a full/oversized version of this with, maybe, beefed up rims (although I doubt I would want a full step). It really isn't what I'm going for with this particular design, however.

 Re: edWIN
so, I finally got around to making a full render. I included a nice funny-looking side effect

 Re: edWIN
Love the shape! I was a big fan of the Messiah, and am pretty sad I got rid of mine. This would be awesome at 50-52mm. Would love to see it happen.

 Re: edWIN
So, I finally got access to solidworks again and got around to making a high quality render. This is in polished aluminum, with the funny-spike SEs

Did you change the design?

 Re: edWIN
I had to redraw it in solidworks, but it is very close to the original. Now that I look at it, the straight catch zone almost looks like it's at a different angle...which was not intended. Thanks for noticing! I'll take a look at it
Edit: I did rework the inner rim just to get the weight up to around where it should be. The original design would have ended up around 40 grams
Edit 2! I reworked the rim a bit, should be a lot close to the original. tell me what you think

 Re: edWIN
The big difference between your initial renders and the SolidWorks renders is that you softened the rim transition to the catch zone. I liked the harder edge that the original had. Both look killer though. I would be happy with either one.

 Re: edWIN
it's difficult to replicate the original simply because different CAD programs draw splines differently....I think I'm satisfied with the "corrected" solidworks drawing though. For me, the feature that makes the shape unique is the flattening out of the rims, which the original solidworks drawing lacks.
