I'm constantly amazed that nobody has had the good sense to send you a Pure. Seems like it'd be the ideal canvas for you to work your magic on. I actually bought a stripped one a while back for exactly that reason, but ended up liking the raw look too much. Now my plan is to have my stock one stripped and blasted, but every time I start building up some cash flow, my idea gets sidelined by something else coming along (in this case also SPYY and Not Fail related ).

Pures aren't fun to anodized, since they have caps that are pressed on. I've heard all kinds of bad stories.

Oh, so they aren't just one solid piece of aluminum? I suppose logically there's no other way they could have been machined, but that's still a bummer. I guess I'd been assuming they were created using magic this whole time. Well so much for my crazy idea then.

Oh wow that turned out hawt. So cool to see the end result after we soda blast. Too bad those weren't anodized in production - totally changes the look.
BTW, I love this thread.

BTW, I love this thread. Yea, it came out awesome. It came out unbelievably smooth. The soda was exceptional on this one. The Machinist would have to confirm this, but I'd guess that since it is 2011 Al (softer than 6061), it should have blasted smoother. Just a guess. Also, it's hard to tell from the pic, but the front half is actually a lighter shade of purple. It came out awesome.

Thanks. I had some other pictures I was going to post first, but I guess I'll have to post these first now.
