 YYN is back!
I can't believe no one has started a post about this. What does everyone think? I for one am sad. I started off on the Nation and have met so many people through there and was able to learn so much about yoyoing.

 Re: Death of Yoyonation
It's such a bummer. I just tried going on their forum yesterday, only to find that the site was dead :\

 Re: Death of Yoyonation
Do we have confirmation that it is truly dead and not having a server outage? I have not seen anything yet either way.

This thread seems grossly premature.

 Re: Death of Yoyonation
I dont mean to post this premature in any way but just as an observation of what has been going on for some time with YYN. I would hope that I am wrong and that it comes back but I seem to feel that it will not. Like I posted I am sad about it. I loved YYN for what it was.

 Re: Death of Yoyonation
I've been wondering if they were really coming back or if they were going to stay down. I will do a little shameless promotion and ask everyone to come check out YYC. www.YoYoCommunity.com we are a new store and a new concept community. We got some really cool aspects that we are working on. If you have visited it when we first got rolling check it out out again. We have been making a ton of updates, however, we are still under "Beta" testing so we haven't got everything perfect yet but we are working hours and hours a day on it to try and get it completely finished by Worlds as we are a main sponsor for it. Goals are the largest trick tutorial section of any yoyo website, unique way of Buy/Sell/Trade (still to come) Events, groups, and profile similar to facebook. Still other aspects that I can't talk about yet, and our iPhone app has already been submitted to apple for approval. So if you get a chance check it out while we wait to see what YYN does.

 Re: Death of Yoyonation
Where is the source that confirms YYN's demise? The site said that they're only temporarily down.

 Re: Death of Yoyonation
Perhaps this is premature and at the risk of jumping the gun...
IMHO, the 'shutdown' of YYN was handled unprofessionally. No prior communication, no warning, no bump page, nothing.
A lot of people with trades are now left in limbo. Everyone has lost their 'feedback scores', a whole database of yoyo release data is lost. Lots of great threads are gone.
I kind of expected this to happen based on how things were crumbling with the store side for months. (unanswered emails, mis-shipped items, etc. etc.)

The corpse of YYN isn't even cold yet -- hell, it hasn't even been confirmed that it is gone for good -- and you're using this discussion as an opportunity to promote your own site.

 Re: What happened to Yoyonation?
Hey everyone. As I do not want to spread rummors or start chaos I decided to change the topic of the tread to "what happened to yoyonation" instead of "Death of yoyonation" As I have said I hope this is not true but its been days now. As for when it happened it was the evening of July 3rd roughly somewhere after 11pm EST. I went to bed that night and was on the nation tooling around and first thing on Wednesday morning when I went on my computer it was down. Again, I hope this is not for good.

Yeah, no offense or anything, but this is some ambulance chasing, homie. Just make another thread to advertise your site. Nobody would have a problem with that. Some of us are realizing that we have more of a soft spot for YYN than we once thought... With that in mind, this post seems really inappropriate. I've been on YYN for longer than any other forum. I had a lot of feedback there. I would really like to not lose all of that... Hope this is just a bump in the road or something...

 Re: What happened to Yoyonation?
My first yoyo board was YoYo Nation as well. I believe my first YoYo was bought there too. I had no ill intentions towards YYN as my last sentence said, "So if you get a chance check it out while we wait to see what YYN does." I apologize for my poorly chosen words of "shameless promotion" I meant that as a joke and ice breaker to the conversation, but felt sharing about YYC as relevant to the thread on people wondering what will be available next and could be looking for a place to go in the mean time while we wait to see if YYN will be coming back or if they have retired the site for good. I will open up a thread in the coming week as we finalize the details.

 Re: What happened to Yoyonation?
I don't see a problem with talking up your community on another forum that explicitly allows it, like this one.
If this thread were on the YYN forum, I'd get the ambulance chaser analogy. But you're not hijacking an official announcement or anything.
Full disclosure: Never really cared much for the retail side of YYN, so I'm probably biased. But I appreciate the community they have over there. I would like to point out that they haven't replied to any tweets asking what's going on, and it's been two months since they said they were going offline for a few weeks.

A lot of people with trades are now left in limbo... Yup. I'm one of those. Hoping it might be a regional data infrastructure thing, as I haven't heard from the guy I'm trading with. He's well known, so I'm not too concerned about getting left high and dry (my end of the trade has already been delivered to his address). It's just disconcerting that there hasn't been communication for a week.
