***LOCKETT CLASPS F.A.Q's***
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ive been getting a lot of questions lately about my custom lockett clasps so i thought id make a F.A.Q. section,
ill post a link to the top of my normal thread too, it should make things easier when people want to order/find out more about my slings.
here is a link to my normal lockett clasps thread too. http://www.onedropyoyos.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=6534&p=57862#p57862
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
***GENERAL LOCKETT CLASPS QUESTIONS*** (eg pics, cord types, accessories and colours, c/w clips, child safety etc)

example pics

im more than happy to take pictures of certain sling colourways on request so that you can be sure that you have chosen the right one before i ship it out to you, ill always go out of my way to make sure your happy with what you choose.
dont worry if your struggling to decide which two colours to blend or what colour tail to have etc, i can snap a pic showing both ways to make it easier to decide, sometimes we all need that, especially me so i totally understand.
thats where most of my custom sling pics come from on the thread, and also the main reason that i do it.

you can also send me pictures of a certain yoyo you want the sling to match and ill post you some different options to choose from.

(some of these pics may show the slings before the tails are trimmed and fully sealed, this is because until i seal it the sling can be still be taken apart again and the cord from the other examples can be reused to make other slings in future.)
this makes things a lot better for me and means theres no harm in making up examples for serious but undecided customers.

***i also have loads of mini cord offcuts from my tails (every colour) that i can send out with orders so if you would like any certain colour samples to look at for future clasps dont hesitate to ask, ill usually stick a few random ones in anyway***

cord, colours and accessories

you can have a lockett clasp made up with any two colours of cord, they can both be the same (single colour) or different colours to create multicolour twists... with the 2 colour twists i can make the tail out of either colour, you choose.

my cords come in all colours of the rainbow, most in a variety of shades too, theres also black, white and grey, camo colours, drab types, neons, special multicolour cord, glow in the dark types and much more to choose from.
if you want a certain colour in particular send me a P.M on the forum and im more than happy to send a pic of my shades in stock for that type.
ive added a few of my pics in to give an idea of my colours and shades etc though there are many, many more...

you can also have a choice of any carabiner (top clip) colours, you dont have to have a black carabiner with black cord etc.
the larger camo and the glow ones add £1.00 to the price of any sling.

the cord toggles (the ball that slides down the tail to lock/open the clasp) come in a variety of colour choices too,
i also have my new grenade shaped ones, (the grenade cord toggles add 0.50p to the price of your sling)

i have many different types styles and sizes of end clips for you to choose from too
(the bottom clips that stop the cord toggle from falling off the tail end)
the tails can also be specially knotted and sealed off so that they dont need an end clip.

for the types of end clips i currently have beads and stars in many colours including glow ones, there are dices
(same size as ricestacks in many varieties too) i also have various different sized dices,
and also my newer c/w style end clips which come in two sizes and many colours.

dont mistake the c/w clips for just being a flimsy piece of plastic, they are actually pretty darn hardcore and are designed to last the test of time, even with regular everyday use.

the c/w clips are also designed to be able to come off when you want them to but not come off accidentally whilst moving etc, to get the c/w clip off you need to give it a gentle squeeze on its sides with a pair of plyers (the idea is that most people have a pair of plyers on their penknife keychains)

im sure there are other ways to get the clips off/on again but once its been clipped on it takes more than the force of my adult hand squeezing to get it off.
the c/w clips are the only ones that are meant to come off.

all my clasps are made to be child safe and the endclips etc will definitely not come off accidentally,
the dicestops are drilled right the way through and sealed at the other end, the only way to get the dice off these ones is to trim the tail with scissors, the same goes for the bead stops and the stars too, only those already had the holes and i didnt have to drill through those.
the c/w clips can come off but there is no chance a child would happen to get it off once clipped down, i have to use plyers myself (then its just a light pinch)

my paypal address for paying for sling orders is dj_icer_mcr@hotmail.com

A FEW NOTES ABOUT LOCKETT CLASPS
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
when you first get your lockett clasp it will arrive stiff, just like a bearing or string they have a break in time
but after a few uses they will soften up and are completely different.

*experience has taught me it is better to have a stiff sling that breaks in perfect than have a perfect sling that breaks in and goes loose.
it takes a lot more effort and gives me mad friction burns to get them so tight and i wouldnt do it unless it was for a good reason, when i say stiff i dont mean to the extreme tho and your sling will still function fine from day one.

any slings will soften more as they break in, you can do this by over using the sling and keep putting it on/taking it off the yoyo though it will break in naturally over the 1st week or two, after then it wont get any slacker (not a lockett clasp anyway) but will keep softening beautifully with age.
