Hey guys, you might have seen these on YYN, but I am finally starting to list some of my "Spectral Cloak" yoyos for sale on eBay.

For those who have not seen my prior thread, these were all yoyos that I hand polished and then had treated with a special thin coat metal treatment. The result is an extremely unique finish that is not only very durable, but is stunningly different and beautiful.

Although I love the way these came out, this project was not without its problems. The first was exhorbitant cost. This isn't something one can do with homebrew equipment and apparently there are few industrial companies in the US who 1) can perform this treatment and 2) are willing to deal with small batches. As a result, I ended up paying an arm and a leg to get these done.

Secondly and more significantly, the process seemed to add some weight to the yoyos which imparted varying degrees of vibe. Less than half came back smooth and the other half now have vibe that ranges from mildly irritating to two yoyos (Flying Huts) that are almost unplayable.

These might be the only yoyos I ever treat in this way due to the high vibe risk and cost.

Anyways, over the next couple weeks I will be selling several of these yoyos off on ebay. The first to be sold will be a "Spectral Cloak" Torrent 2:

This is one of the few yoyos that came back with minimal vibe that I will be letting go. I only processed 19 yoyos and will probably only release 9 or so to the public, so check out the link if you're interested!

Wow, those look amazing. Reminds me of the look of oil in water.

I have a feeling the bidding on that might get a bit out of control.

I'm all for crazy bidding... but I'm actually just hoping to recoup my costs.

Aside from the finishing cost per yoyo, the vibe issues really ended up killing me. I've emailed the processor to see if there's any way to apply less coating on future runs, because I don't think I'd be willing to risk the vibe issues again. :/
