 General-Yo's MAGNUM
It has taken 10 months of engineering, testing, and pushing the limits. I have a great time designing yoyos on my free time, but making them can be a challenge. Magnesium is hard to come by these days, especially in round stock. Machining it can be a big hazard if you don’t know what you are doing. Getting it nickle plated is another challenge I don’t want to do again. I must say I am glad I stuck it out. These babies will be once in a lifetime, and very few have been made. Seen here next to the Mini-Star and 5-Star. The Mini-Star has as much rim weight I could do for a smaller size throw made out of aluminum. The 5-Star and Torrent have as much rim weight I could get on an aluminum throw, with out making it impossible to manufacture. Experimenting with Magnesium has allowed me to add 30% more mass to the rims, and still only weigh 67.4 gr. Notice the mega size rims that create mass inertia, stability, and the longest spin times you will ever experience. The nickel plating is a beautiful shade that will change in time, and give each throw its originality. These throws are smooth on the string, however the nickel plating process can create a small vibe for the finger test. This yoyo has been a challenge I have enjoyed, but will not do again. 67.4 gr 53.34 dia 41.40 wide 4.2 gap

 Re: General-Yo's MAGNUM
This really looks like an interesting throw, but alas, due to recent changes in the "black budget" Area 51 will not be able to acquire, dissect, and analyze said MAGNUM. But, in light of the recent trend in "selling one's self" for yoyos, Area 51 has decided to make some of our "professional" services available the the general public... Please address all serious enquiries to Area 51... db

 Re: General-Yo's MAGNUM
Just wondering - how do you machined it? Isn´t Mg known for it´s extra low ignition level? I heard you could ignite it just by lighter.

 Re: General-Yo's MAGNUM

Its the small shaving that come off while you machine it. Its like kindling and a small spark could start it. Most shops wont touch it. The mag yoyo itself would have to be ignited with a torch. Its safe to have in the house.

 Re: General-Yo's MAGNUM
I've had a little bit of time with mine now and while I have nowhere near the skills of the video above I gotta say this thing has a very unique feel, and for sure has fantastic spin times.. only about 1 gram heavier than the Yfactor- When you are playing it - it plays like an optical illusion. it just looks like it should weigh about a pound, but doesn't. wide enough to hit the string super easy. as Ernie said- SUPER stable. It feels great holding it, super nice rounded lines. I like how even at the end of multiple tricks where other yoyo's may not make it back when spinning slow the magnum still does. For me this is a great advantage and gives me more time to learn more or get a trick dialed.
If you can get your hands on one you wont be disappointed.
