 Re: Hidemasa Hook
Looking at the video, if I wanted to do the stand alone trick could I just roll out into a bind instead of removing the string from the gap?

 Re: Hidemasa Hook
Holy crap, I finally figured it out!!! Thanks Brett. It is funny how a trick will just click after a while.

Just keep practicing, this is one of those tricks you randomly keep practicing than you'll land it once then a little later you'll do it again until you master it and can do it whenever haha This is how I try teaching the trick, throw a breakaway/sleeper and then take your non-throwhand and make a pointing gesture (like the little hand on the computer when you move your curser over something thats clickable) and point right out in front of you. Your hands should be about shoulder width (this will give you a bigger loop of slack to throw) and pop the yoyo up and create a slack loop with your throwhand by pulling up and making a slight circle with it. If your non-throw hand didn't move it should be right in the path way of the slack loop to create the hook. To really get it you should just practice the part where you create the slack and it collides with your non-throw hand because once you know how that part works the trick is pretty much done and the slack just has to finish going around your hand and then connecting with the yoyo.

 Re: Hidemasa Hook
Well I learned it really quickly, but doing it well and consistently and mastering it was a whole different story.
But yeah you just keep up with the hook and the little trick I said in my post, hopefully that will help you

 Re: Hidemasa Hook
I too have spent countless throws attempting this. One day I told myself, "ok, do not do any other tricks untill you learn hidemesa hook." Needless to say, I've learned many other tricks since that day and never learned it. I'm a stud at trapeeze laceration though!

ExtreamSpin wrote: i can see the whip forming but it always stops at my finger and slides back down into a sleeper This might be partially due to the string if you use highlights, your could try a different heavier/thinner string, like any g-string, or alchemy/angel hair will generally whip quite fast. However before you do that you could try a shorter string if you still use full length,(read;cut the string.) and combine that with a faster whipping motion...

 Re: Hidemasa Hook
Watched this video yesterday and picked it up. Thanks. I still don't understand what is really happening unless I watch your slow motion.
